How it works

How a course works with us

Baby swimming is not about learning to swim yet – it is about feeling good. Your baby should experience water as something familiar: warm, calm and always close to you. As mum or dad you are in the pool the whole time, with Natalie guiding you step by step.

  1. 1

    Arriving calmly

We start without any rush: get changed, shower briefly and give your baby time to take in the room, the sounds and the other families.

  2. 2

    First laps in your arms

In the warm water the first thing is simply getting comfortable. You hold your baby securely while we accompany those first movements with songs and familiar rituals.

  3. 3

    Playing, floating, reaching

Gradually we add holds and positions in which your baby floats and moves independently – supported by games, rhymes and colourful things to grab.

  4. 4

    A calm finish

At the end it gets quiet again: a cuddle in the water, our closing song, then straight into warm clothes. Most babies are pleasantly tired and hungry afterwards.

Natalie demonstrates every hold calmly beforehand – you only do what feels right for you and your baby. Nothing is forced, least of all going underwater. Your child always sets the pace.
